Get To Know: BlocBoy JB

BlocBoyJB

BlocBoy JB has been making waves on the net since 2017; the rapper’s booming track “Rover” hit the net hard after being released in January this year, and has had some serious radio play with his track “Look Alive,” featuring Drake.

Born James Baker, BlocBoy hails from Memphis, Tennessee; he’s quickly becoming one of the lead up-and-comers out of a rowdy, eccentric rap scene in the city.

Most of BlocBoy JB’s videos feature him hitting some sort of eccentric dance, doing everything from bouncing and jogging in place, to hitting a mean two-step. His signature dance, though, is the wild, leg-flailing “Shoot” dance, which was popularised in the “Rover” video, and has even the 6 God trying to replicate it.

The Memphis rhymer’s new project features 18 tracks, including the breakout collaboration with Drizzy. Additional guest appearances are made by YG, 21 Savage, Moneybagg Yo and Lil Pump.

Cardi B’s Debut Album ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ Is Already Certified Gold

Cardi B’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy has finally arrived. The album, which dropped on April 5, hasn’t even been out for a full 24 hours, and apparently it is already a hit as far as the RIAA is concerned. According to recent calculations, Cardi’s album is certified gold, and it’s all thanks to this technicality.

The project reportedly received the brand new certification due to a technicality, which she can attribute to the success of her monster hit, “Bodak Yellow,” according to Forbes. As previously reported, “Bodak Yellow” was certified 5x multi-platinum in September 2017. That being so, the Chart Data states that 10 track units is the equivalent of one album sale, which means that her No. 1 single, which is on her album, has already sold 500,000 units, making it gold status.

The album includes her pre-released singles: “Bodak Yellow,” “Bartier Cardi,” “Be Careful,” and “Drip.” It also features appearances from Kehlani, Chance the Rapper, YG, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, SZA, and more. Listen to it HERE.
